Aquaria KLCC is located at the Concourse levels of the state-of-the-art, landmark development Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which is just a five-minute walk from Petronas Twin Tower, one of the world's tallest towers and Suria KLCC, the city's busiest shopping mall.
Integrated into KLCC, Aquaria KLCC is a 'Destination within a Destination', and is a world-class next generation, fully-interactive, commercial aquarium with a focus on 'edutainment' facilities for Kuala Lumpur residents and visitors.
The family-oriented Aquaria KLCC, with a total built-up area of approximately 60,000 sq ft, offers easy and affordable access to visitors across all demographics and as it is right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It appeals as both a destination venue on its own right and as much needed, conveniently located natural sanctuary for KL residents and tourist alike, to retreat from city life on regular basis.
Aquaria KLCC is built around a linear and tropically-themed journey designed by New Zealand-based Marinescape Ltd, an aquarium specialist involved in the development and construction of over 20 aquatic exhibition facilities worldwide. It begins with highland forest stream that build up into rivers that move through rainforests and progresses to the coastal lowlands and mangrove swamps to meet the sea. This exciting journey is split into six sections - Evolution, Jewels of the Jungle, Deep Forest, The Coasts and Touch Pool, The Living Oceans and The Living Reef.
Featured in this journey are over 5,000 aquatic and land-bound animals, representing 150 different species. The end of the journey is manifested in Aquaria KLCC's main aquatic attraction - 90-metre underwater tunnel from where visitors can enjoy an experience of the rich marine life featured in the acrylic main tank above.
Thematically linked to the aquatic exhibits are the interactive Discovery Zones, where visitors can extend their experience beyond the aquatic tank exhibits to real and virtual aquatic environments from around the world.
Loaded with interesting facts and games, there will be interactive kiosks designed to educate and entertain visitors of all ages.
Visitors can also photograph themselves against simulated aquatic backdrops, and download multimedia content to mobile phones and PDAs -definitely a good feature for family, and a rave with the kids.
Located in the heart of town, Aquaria KLCC is easily accessible. It takes a 7 minutes walk from KL Monorail's Raja Chulan Station, and a 3-minute walk from Putra LRT's KLCC station, and is also accessible via car, taxis or bus.
Aquaria KLCC is open from 10am to 10pm daily with last admission at 9.00pm. Admission charges for single entry are at RM38 for adults and RM26 for children aged 3 to 12.
