Pierced!

Yup, someone has been pierced on her ears or rather ear. That someone is none other than our eldest daughter, Selina. We wanted to do it long ago but she was quite young then. A friend of ours had her daughter's ears pierced when she was 6 months old. Selina had hers done last Sunday at Centre Point. I asked her, "Nina, do you want to have earrings like mommy, Oma and Mama?". She nodded. So, we brought her to this shop called "Sense" at the 2nd floor where the aunty whom by the way is supernice to Selina, asked Selina to choose which earrings she would like to have on her ears. Selina chose the "green one" as she pointed out to me. While the aunty was preparing her "gadget", I was trembling inside. Afraid that Selina couldn't take it. So, the moment came. Hubby and Amos were amusing Selina to distract her. The aunty sprayed on Selina's ear and initiated the pierce. I felt Selina's grip and held her closely. Surprisingly, She did shed some tears but just for a few seconds as hubby and Amos comforting her and praising her for being so brave. I for one was about to cry but just held myself together. Baru sebelah telinga okay! Ada sebelah lagi! So, the aunty was about to do on Selina's left ear but Selina was still in shock. So, the aunty suggested us to come back next week or so. I told my mum and she praised Selina how beautiful she is with her earring. Selina is loving it. So, this week or the next will be another trip to the piercing shop. Will sure to blog about that. For now, I am glad my girl has her ear pierced early.

My piercing experience was not a great one though. I remember vividly the first time I got my ears pierced. I was in primary school that time when this lady came to our house. My mum held me while the lady rubbed something on my earlobes and followed by a sharp pain and after that I could feel the thread running through the puncture. I was in shock and of course in tears. Who would expect I have to endure THAT pain. Anyways, I prefer the modern way.

What a brave little girl. I don't think my Celina berani.. she might like the idea of having bling bling on her ears.. but i don't think she'll be as brave as your Selina. Or rather.. the mama yg takut.. lol
