Raya Celebration
Wednesday, 8 October 2008
I remember those days where I could visit more than 8 houses in a day!
Just imagine if my body could talk, it would wail "ENOUGH SHARON!!".
Anyways, this year Hari Raya we only managed to visit 4 houses (supposed to be 5 but somebody didn't read the sms correctly).
First day of Raya, it was scorching hot.
So I did my laundry happily.
Until I overhauled all the bedsheets and blankets.
I just love the smell of fresh laundry.
Anyways, I cooked for lunch and kids had their naps.
Then, off we went to Saharom's house.
Every year, Saharom's house is the first house I visit since his open house is on the first day of Raya.
This has been a routine for more than 10 years now.
Saharom and I have been good friends since college.
But sorry I didn't get to take a picture of him.
I grabbed one from his FaceBook.

I managed to capture little Danish in his baju Melayu.

We were greeted by Bonnie's wife, Hafsah.
We came in a big group.
Our family, PIL, Ben & Imelda, our three nieces and Bonnie's mum.
Hafsah's dad was also there.
Hafsah prepared Soto Daging that day.
Habis bah sup dia durang Sean plus daddy dia juga.
I love the decor in Bonnie's house.
One thing caught my eyes, the collection of bags (Hafsah's) sitting neatly in a glass cabinet.
We met Osmand & Lolly, Stanley with Rosalia and little Ryan, Choi, Andrew's mum, Andrew's siblings and relatives.
We came after attending my cousin's wedding reception.
Exhausted especially when you have 3 kids running around in different directions!

Sean seated quietly on Uncle Osmand's lap. Sampai panas buntut si Sean control good boy.
Sean is fear of Uncle Osmand. Tulah good boy.

I miss Hari Raya... I used to visit a Malay friend of mine every year for as long as I could remember. Of course that was before I moved here (US). Obo Sharon, you've got such beautiful kids. Anyways, glad you guys had a wonderful Hari Raya...visiting, eating and all...
