Engagement - Peter Trevor & Sulastry Kundi

I am sorry for posting this event quite late. But here it goes anyway. Last Sunday (16 Sept), we went to Kota Marudu for my cousin, Peter Trevor Jaua Jr.'s engagement. Hubby and I woke up before 7am and started to make preparation for the journey including their clothes, milk, diapers, baby wipes and toys (just in case they are cranky). We went to Ramayah to gather before we start our journey. Junior hired a 40-seater bus for the entourage. Hubby decided to bring the car since our kids' things took 1/2 of the space. I sat at the back with the girls while Sean had the privilege to sit with his daddy. The journey started at about 9.00am. We arrived in Kota Marudu close to midday. My girls slept all the way but Sean chose to be his daddy lil' co-pilot. It's very easy to find Sue's place. The event started off with Sue's Ketua Kampung briefed everyone of what had transpired in the Monuhuku session on the 31 August. Monuhuku means merisik in Malay and in English, likewise, am damn lazy to flip the dictionary. Anyhow, it went smoothly with prayers by Uncle Paul Jaua then followed by lunch and cake cutting my the newly engaged couple (Bonio, you are now taken!). After lunch, since it was my first time there, hubby drove us around Kota Marudu town. When we arrived at Marudu 1, hubby said, this is a small place. Marudu 2 is bigger. So, he drove around and I figured out that there are only 4 hotels namely Marudu Inn, Hotel Holiday Garden, Season Inn and Hotel California (punyalah!). Then hubby drove to Marudu 2, I'd say the place look like old Donggongon. That's about it lah my hubby said. I was like "emmm...oh yeah that's it." Hubby drove back to KK. On the way, he stopped by at different stalls to buy fruits and what's not to bring home. Oh, my starring was fast asleep while my two girls were wide awake! I had to give up our seats at the back to give room to my lil' hero so that he could sleep comfortably. So, mummy sat in front with two hands cuddling my two girls. Lemme see if I can remember who went.

It's the best thing for a couple to tie the knot when they are truly in love. However, how long it can last..no one knows. But the divorce rate of the kadazan people is quite high, maybe the highest among the tribes in Sabah. Why it is so? Because you people are not humble enough to accept your spouse as he/she is. This is true..
