A visit to Perkasa Hotel Tenom

Last month, my colleague and I went to Tenom to inspect our hotel, Perkasa Hotel Tenom and to take some pictures.
We have just taken over the management of the hotel since a year ago.
It was my first time there (hotel).
We took a taxi and journeyed through Kimanis road (also my first time!).
I heard so many stories about this road and I was a bit anxious at first but our taxi driver, Mr. Lim, told us to just enjoy the ride.
And so we did with a wee bit of butterfly in the stomach motion.
And oh boy, the hills are pretty steep and Mr. Lim uses Gear 1 to accelerate.
I was holding my breath at one point until we reach the top.
It was as if the car was struggling to climb.

This road is done after a landslide.

Anyways, we reached Tenom town and proceeded to the hotel.

Greeted by our fellow colleagues there, Mary & I sat down at the lobby.

After checking our emails through the Wi-fi facility at the lobby (yes, wifi), we proceeded to have our lunch before checking into our room.

I love the bathroom

I started to take pictures of all the facilities there for our reference later.

Perkasa Hotel Tenom offers seminar packages for government and corporate bodies.

The restaurant simply divine for wedding function, birthday celebration, annual dinner and so forth.

Later in the evening, I drove down to town to get a glimpse of what Tenom has to offer.
Mary and I just went around.

The next morning, Madam Daisy and Madam Ang brought us to see places of interest.
First stop is the famous Tenom market and we also had our breakfast on the 1st floor of the market building.

Then, we proceeded to Taman Pertanian Sabah located about 15km from town area.

We visited the Murut Cultural House.
Huge building structure.
Fascinated by the motives carved at each "tiang" (will blog about this).
This place is used for Pesta Kalimaran.

Our next stop is the Chong's Fish Farm.
Madam Ang told us that Chong is one of the suppliers for the hotel and he has some interesting fish to look at.
The signage outside the entrance

When we arrived, tadaaa.....dragon fish...HUGEEE!
About 4 - 5 feet long...

Friendly dragon fish

According to Mr. Chong, if you are lucky, you will see numbers on the body or tail of the fish.
Obviously, all of us looked vigilantly at the fish's body and tail.
Then, one of us said "Hey, I see number 5!"
Then, I told her "Ya, sia pun nampak. Maciam kudis ja tu."
We guffawed until our tears came out. Sot!

After amusing ourselves, we headed to the prominent coffee maker "Kilang Kopi Fatt Choi".
The aroma of coffee is simply inviting.
I wanted to take pictures in the factory but the signage clearly tells me "NO CAMERA ALLOWED".

End of our journey.
Back to KK.
