Shaun the Sheep

This is another favourite show of my son, Shaun the Sheep, on air every Monday to Friday at 7pm on Disney Channel (Channel 61) right after Mr. Bean animated series. Very entertaining. Here are the characters:

Shaun the Sheep has an inquisitive, mischievous nature which distinguishes him from the other sheep, and leads him into tricky situations from which he usually recovers. He is popular, and is a natural leader. He is also a moral character who will try to "make things right".

Bitzer is the long-suffering sheepdog who watches the flock. He tolerates antics, but steps in if things get out of hand. Bitzer acts as foreman, checking the sheep into and out of the field and lunching with a flask of tea and sandwiches. He listens to drum and bass on a portable media player and does crossword puzzles, which gives the animals opportunity for mischief. The relationship between Bitzer and the animals is essentially friendly. A character designed by a Blue Peter competition winner, XX2000 Robot Dog, will replace Bitzer in one episode.[8]

The Farmer is a solitary and plain figure, who tends to his smallholding farm with loyal Bitzer. He goes about his business expressing little emotion except the occasional burst of frustration when things go wrong, or an air of bemusement at the results of some of Shaun’s antics. He is enthusiastic about new technology. Like all the human characters in the series, we see him from the animals’ point of view and his speech comes across as a series of grunts and mumbles. He is unaware that his farmyard charges are anything other than normal animals.

The Flock are typical sheep, content to spend the day chewing the cud until Shaun gets an idea into his head, when they will easily follow his lead. They are an enthusiastic audience for Shaun, but are clumsy, easily frightened and not bright, which undermines Shaun’s exploits. While the flock mainly acts as a unified entity, some characters stand out within the group:

***Shirley is so much bigger than the other sheep that she has to be pushed from place to place and can eat just about anything that comes her way. She is useful as a trampoline, a battering ram and her capacious fleece provides a hiding place for unlikely items.

***Timmy is an adorable baby lamb who sucks a
dummy and gets into dangerous situations. He loves teddy bears and will cry if he is without them. He likes pizza, and only has one tooth.

***Timmy's Mother wears curlers in her hair, and is a bit careless about maternal duties. But when her offspring goes astray, she is inconsolable until he is safely back in her care.

***The Naughty Pigs are housed in a yard next to the field, and are the bane of the sheep's life. Mocking, cantankerous, greedy and generally lazy, they still find time to disrupt Shaun’s schemes.

Can't hardly wait..

Yipeeee!!! I am going home tomorrow. I have been counting the days. My groups are doing great. No glitches at the moment though the organizer seems to change this and that at the last minute. I had dinner with my fellow colleagues and I didn't realize I left my phone in the room. There was 7 missed calls from my hubby. So, I returned his call and spoke to Selina. Although she talks in her baby language but still I manage to understand her but it was a bit hard to make her understand (the adult language) to pass the phone to her brother Sean. A few minutes afterwards, Sean called me (with the help of sweet Daddy) and kept on asking me where I am. I just told him I was in the office. I miss them dearly. I hope tomorrow there will be no more additional request from the organizer who seems to be cool. Looking forward for tomorrow.

An interesting story..

I received this story via email from a friend of mine, Judith Bansing. Please read on. It's quite interesting.
A Jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. "You are employed" he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email". "I'm sorry", said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job."

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the
operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email. The man replied,"I don't have an email." The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!" The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

Moral of the story
Moral 1 - Internet is not the solution to your life.
Moral 2 - If you don't have Internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.
Moral 3- If you received this message by email, you are closer to being a office boy/girl, than a millionaire...

I am Sorry...

I'm sorry for what happened this morning,
I've said one thing that ever made you think less of yourself instead of more,
I'm sorry for things I have said that made you change your opinion of yourself,
Or make you believe something that is and never has been true,
But instead was the meanest thing I could think of to tell you at the time,
I'm sorry if I ever hurt you period,
It's not and never has been my right to do that,
You do not and never have deserved that,
I'm hoping I become a better person for it,
I would rather be struck mute,
Than to ever spew negativity in stride,
Instead I would literally take the trade.

Happy Birthday to Mummy!

Today, is my mum's 53rd Birthday. She has been blessed with good health, beauty, a cheerful disposition, an active mind, and a kind heart that is always willing to help and guide. We pray that mum will always be there for us. May God bless our dearest mummy! We love you mum! Unfortunately, she's flying off to Kuching due to work. So, we have to postponed the brithday celebration probably to Sunday (coincides with Father's Day).

A Birthday Wish from a Daughter: I really love my mom, and I Never will forget her, And all the things she does for me, Like making me feel better, Like when she buys me lots of stuff,A raincoat or a sweater, Or when she takes time from her work So we can play together. Sometimes when I'm feeling sad, She makes me glad gain, With just a little kiss-and-hug That takes away all pain. So happy birthday, Mom! I want This day to be for you, For everything you are to me And all the things you do.

Oh my Tom Yam!

I miss Tom Yam soup especially the one near our house in Kepayan. I remember when I was expecting Sean, in the second trimester, I was craving for tom yam like almost every day. Until my hubby tidak sanggup to take me. I actually walked to that stall without my hubby knowing. I know it was a crazy ordeal pun one must not stop one's appetite. I also introduced this place (i forgot the name of the stall) to most of my friends. They say the Tom Yam soup, Sup Tulang and Sambal Belacan are heavenly dishes.

When a child is sick...

Yesterday, Sean was not as active as before. So I checked on his temperature. His body was quite warm. But he still asked for his nenen so I was not that worried. After about 10pm, I tucked them all in bed. So, I went out to chit chat with a relative of ours. Every 10 minutes, I go into the room and have a check on Sean's temperature. At about 11pm, then, I excused myself and went into the room. So I checked on Sean again. It was on high side and he was shivering though the comforter covered all his body. I panicked. So, I took a wet towel and put on his forehead. Sean woke up and asked for his milk. I mixed paracetamol for kids into his milk. Luckily he finished it. But soon after that he vomitted everything. I told my husband I want to insert the medicine into his anus to bring down the temperature. Sean was scared but I managed to calm him down. He was okay. So, I didn't sleep for an hour to monitor his progress. Thank God, his temperature went down. This morning when he woke up, I asked him whether he feels sick or otherwise. He said "No pain mummy." I feel relieved.
